Wimbledon will not show any Euro 2024 matches for the next two weeks, including England’s quarter-final against Switzerland on Saturday.

This is in line with the tournament policy of previous years, where only live tennis was shown on the large screens.

England take on Switzerland on Saturday at 5pm UK time, meaning some fans will be able to watch the match on their own devices.

The last two major summer tournaments involving England, in 2021 and 2018, also featured knockout matches for England while matches took place at Wimbledon.

Debbie Jevans, the new chairman of the All England Club, told The Telegraph last week about the policy: “The big screens will show tennis. All the screens around the grounds will show tennis. We will only show tennis, as the matches will go into the evening.

“If England do well, a few people might slip away to watch football, but the Euros won’t affect attendance. We’ve had record requests, all the hospitality packages have sold out, so we’re not nervous. The vote was oversubscribed and we sold out in record time.”

If England beat Switzerland, they will play their semi-final on Wednesday, July 10 at 8pm UK time. That could mean a clash with the final matches of the day at Wimbledon, which would be the men’s or women’s quarter-finals.

Wimbledon starts on July 1 and ends on Sunday, July 14, the same day as the final of the 2024 European Championship.
