Wilsons county champions highlight BCIAA all-star girls lacrosse team

A competitive league reached a boiling point in 2024, when Wilson defeated Twin Valley 14-8 to win its first Berks championship since 2018, breaking a winning streak by the three-time reigning champion Raiders in the finals.

The all-star team is selected by the BCIAA coaches.

The Bulldogs were led by three-time All-Berks selection Alexa Kairis, named Player of the Year in 2024, and first-year coach Chelsea Rosiek, named to the 2024 Coach of the Year team.

Additionally, Twin Valley continued its dominance in District 3, as the Raiders defeated Wyomissing 7-4 to win their third consecutive Class 2A district championship. Twin Valley also reached its third consecutive PIAA Class 2A final, where it lost to Archbishop Carroll.

The Spartans reached the PIAA Class 2A quarterfinals for the first time in program history and were led by leading scorer Kacey Maggs, a sophomore.

BCIAA 2024 Girls Lacrosse All-Star Team

Francesca Ditsky, Berks Catholic, Jr.

The rookie player and goalie for the Saints (4-5, Berks, 7-10) made a season-record 18 saves in a 13-12 loss to Schuylkill Valley.

Kylie Duke, Twin Valley, Jr.

A repeat selection on offense, he scored 63 goals and had 18 assists for the District 3 Class 2A champion and PIAA runner-up Raiders (8-1 Berks, 21-7).

Emily Gauker, Governor Mifflin, Sr.

The midfielder and rookie scored a team-high 36 goals and had five assists for the Mustangs, who finished 6-3 in Berks and 6-12 overall.

Molly Giering, Exeter Township, sophomore

A specialist in first-team selection and draw control, he scored 48 goals and had 15 assists for the Eagles, who finished 4-5 in Berks and 9-9 overall.

Anna Givens, Twin Valley, Sr.

A repeat selection and midfielder, he scored 71 goals and had 41 assists, finishing with a team-high 112 points for the District 3 Class 2A champion and PIAA runner-up Raiders.

Alexa Kairis, Wilson, Sr.

A three-time selection on offense and first-time Player of the Year recipient, the Penn State commit scored 57 goals and had seven assists for the BCIAA champion Bulldogs. He scored a game-high seven goals to give Wilson a 14-8 victory over Twin Valley in the BCIAA championship and snap the Raiders’ three-year county championship winning streak.

Maitlyn Keiser, Wilson, Jr.

As a midfielder and debutant, he scored 75 goals and had 18 assists, good for 93 points for the Bulldogs.

Ellison Kaplan, Twin Valley, Sr.

A draw control specialist, midfielder and rookie selection, he reached 200 draw controls in his career while scoring 66 goals and having 45 assists for the District 3 Class 2A champion and PIAA runner-up Raiders.

Kacey Maggs, Wyomissing, sophomore

The rookie forward led the District 3 runner-up Spartans in points with 46 goals and 50 assists.

Audrey Miller, Wilson, Sr.

A debuting striker, he scored 50 goals and had 30 assists.

Hadley Munn, Twin Valley, Sr.

A repeat selection and midfielder, he scored 54 goals and had 35 assists for the District 3 Class 2A champion and PIAA runner-up Raiders.

Olivia Reinhart, Wilson, Jr.

A first-round draft pick and dominant defender committed to play lacrosse at West Chester University.

Reese Weddle, Schuylkill Valley, Sr.

The Panthers were selected for the first time and scored a league-leading 80 goals and eight assists. The Panthers finished 4-5 in Berks and 9-8 overall.

Coach of the Year

Chelsea Rosiek, Wilson, coach

The first-year head coach led the Bulldogs to a 9-0 league record (19-5 overall), their first BCIAA title since 2018, an appearance in the District 3 Class 3A finals and an appearance in the first round of PIAA Class 3A.
