Since their merger, fans have been enjoying months of crossovers from both organizations, from Michael Chandler appearing on WWE RAW to Randy Orton, Rhea Ripley and Rey Mysterio appearing in the crowd at UFC shows.

The organizations recently saw their first-ever collaboration when WWE NXT Battleground took place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. With these crossovers continuing, audiences will see WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura this weekend at UFC 303.

Shinsuke Nakamura announced he will corner Rei Tsuruya, who makes his UFC debut at UFC 303. WWE officials have confirmed Nakamura’s involvement with ESPN. Nakamura expressed his enthusiasm for the event in a statement to the network.

He said: “I’m excited to be a part of the huge UFC 303 event this weekend. It’s an honour to be in Rei Tsuruya’s corner. MMA is still a huge passion of mine and to be a part of Rei’s UFC debut is a great moment.”

Shinsuke Nakamura joins Rei Tsuruya’s corner at UFC 303

WWE superstar Shinsuke Nakamura is set to make his debut in the corner of UFC newcomer Rei Tsuruya. Tsuruya is a rising Japanese fighter who has forged his own path. He won season 2 of Road to the UFC, a show that awards UFC contracts to up-and-coming fighters.

Rei Tsuruya had a perfect 9-0 MMA record before joining the UFC in February. This weekend he will face Carlos Hernandez, who has a 2-2 record. UFC 303 is led by Alex Pereira and Jiří Procházka.

Both fighters are stepping in on short notice after the event was originally set to be headlined by Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor. However, it was changed following the latter’s announcement that he had injured his pinky toe. This forced him to pull out of the event, prompting the UFC to announce the new headliners for the main event.
