In 2017, she performed brilliantly and led her side to promotion to Division 1 in the County Championship by scoring 206 runs at an average of 29.42 and taking 13 wickets. Her performance helped Hampshire win Division 1 of the County Championship. In 2020, she continued to play for Southern Vipers in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, playing all seven matches and helping the team win the competition. In the Charlotte Edwards Cup, Dean took 5/19 in the first match playing for the Vipers against Central Sparks. She then announced that she would sign a professional contract with Southern Vipers. In 2022, she became the leading wicket-taker for Southern Vipers in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, showing her class as a bowler throughout the domestic seasons.

Charlie Dean was selected for the England squad for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand, where she played six matches and helped England reach the final. She picked up 11 wickets with an excellent performance. In July 2022, Dean was the leading wicket-taker in the England ODI series against South Africa with 8 wickets at an average of 18.62.
