What Bully Ray wants to see from the Drew McIntyre & CM Punk program in WWE

On Monday’s “Raw,” McIntyre began addressing the crowd, but abruptly interrupted himself as the “CM Punk” chants began to build. He “left” WWE, said, “Fuck this company,” and walked out of the ring, up the ramp and through Gorilla Position, past the protesting voices of “Raw” GM Adam Pearce and WWE CCO Triple H. Bully said he would do. I would have liked to see something different if the segment had been up to him.

“I would have played into the punk vocals a little bit more visually,” he said. “Maybe I would have just said, ‘Really? Really?’ (to encourage it) and then I would have just said, ‘I quit.’” Looking back on Clash at the Castle, Bully also had some constructive criticism of the way the confrontation went after Punk refused to count to three when McIntyre attempted to pin world heavyweight champion Damian Priest, centered around the difference in status between the two opponents. “As soon as Drew got up,” Bully explained, “Punk should have kicked him in the nuts. I didn’t even want to see Drew get his hands on him because in my eyes, as soon as Drew got his hands on Punk, he would have to rip his head off. That’s a really bad mother truck driver. He’s 6-foot-4, 275 to the nines.

Moving forward, Bully sees Money In the Bank as the place where McIntyre should seek retribution against Punk, depriving him of a potential title shot in the title match, unlike this week on ‘SmackDown’. “If McIntyre screws Punk at Money In the Bank,” he theorized, “you’ll still have plenty of time to work towards SummerSlam. If Drew beats everything out of Punk on Friday, where will you go? You still have a lot of weeks left.”
