During the tense T20 World Cup match between Afghanistan and Bangladesh, in-form Afghan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz twice survived the scare of a run-out in one delivery, thanks to the Tigers’ comedy of errors.

The incident took place during the 16th over of the Afghan innings, when they were trying to accelerate, having just crossed the 80-run mark. Mustafizur Rahman bowled the third over of his spell and had a great start, conceding just three runs off his first three balls.

Rahman came from across the wicket and delivered an off-cutter at the back end as Gurbaz tried to cut it through the offside. However, his well-timed shot found Rishad Hossain, who immediately picked up the ball and went for the throw.

Unfortunately for Bangladesh, Rishad bowled in the wrong direction while both Afghan batters were found at the striker’s end.

The ball failed to hit the stumps, resulting in an overthrow. The Afghan batters took advantage of this opportunity and returned to their respective target despite another minor hiccup.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan, building on Rashid Khan’s late blitz, posted a slightly below par total of 115 runs. Considering the suitability of the track for the bowlers, it could be a fighting score if the Afghan bowlers hit the right areas.
