USA Lacrosse Selects Four Eagles for U20 National Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts. – Four Boston College women’s lacrosse players were named to the 2024 U.S. Under-20 women’s national team. Shea Bakker, Lydia Colasante, Shea Dolce And Emma LoPinto will represent the Eagles at the 2024 Under-20 Women’s World Lacrosse Championship in Hong Kong, China, from August 15-24.

The quartet played a crucial role in an outstanding season for the Eagles, who won their second national title in four seasons, two straight ACC championships and posted an overall record of 20-3.

Baker played in all 23 games and set career highs across the board. She had 13 caused turnovers, 24 draw controls, 17 ground balls and scored nine goals. She recorded three caused turnovers and five ground balls in the 14-9 NCAA Tournament quarterfinal win over Michigan.

Colasante started in 18 of 23 games this season, finishing sixth on the team with 24 ground balls and causing 11 turnovers. She was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team and had three games with multiple CTs.

Dolce started in all 23 games in the cage and led the ACC with a .470 save percentage and 8.75 goals against average. She was ACC Goalkeeper of the Year and First-Team All-ACC. She led the team with 46 ground balls, good for third in the ACC. Dolce was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team and NCAA All-Tournament team after posting a save percentage of at least .490 in both tournaments.

LoPinto played in all 23 games in her freshman season at Boston College. She was a consensus All-American, finishing third on the team with 58 goals and second with 28 assists. Her 86 points were third on the team, and she was the only player with at least 55 goals and 25 assists. The New York native led the Eagles in scoring over the final 13 games of the season with 55 points and 38 goals. She was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team and a Second-Team All-ACC selection.

The Eagles are well represented on Team USA this season, with Charlotte North and Courtney Taylor named to the inaugural US National Box Lacrosse Team. They will compete in the World Lacrosse Box Championships in September. Mckenna Davis And Cassidy Weeks were invited to a training camp with the American Sixes Team, and Acacia Walker-Weinstein was appointed coach of the U.S. national team.
