Update on the health of WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah The Butcher

WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah the Butcher is reportedly battling health issues that have left the hardcore wrestling legend hospitalized. Abdullah has been hospitalized in Georgia for a week, PW Insider reports. The wrestling legend is said to have been suffering from an intestinal problem. He has been promoted for The Gathering of North Carolina, a wrestling convention that takes place in Charlotte from August 1 to 4. Abdullah’s status for the show is of course dependent on his health and whether he is released from the hospital in time.

Given his violent nature in the ring, and a career that has left his forehead littered with bladed scars, Abdullah has struggled with various health issues over the years. In June 2014, a court ruled that Abdullah was to blame for causing Canadian wrestler Devon “Hannibal” Nicholson to contract hepatitis C during a match. Abdullah was ordered to pay $2.3 million in damages. The following year, Abdullah admitted to financial difficulties and appealed for help from fans. Abdullah’s last match was in July 2010 at a Dragon Gate Pro Wrestling event in Hyogo, where he teamed with the recently deceased Akebono.

Abdullah the Butcher has amazed and astonished fans in the ring for years, but now the WWE Hall is reportedly under significant physical strain. We here at SE Scoops would like to wish Abdullah the very best during this time.
