Title change in AEW clash

During the main event of tonight’s episode of AEW Collision on July 20 in Arlington, Texas, new champions were crowned.

Tonight’s show had a different vibe, as it was the first of a series of “summer series” at Esports Stadium Arlington, featuring a new intro theme song and decor. And now there are new title holders in AEW.

The main event of the show saw the vacant AEW World Trios Championship on the line as the Bang Bang Gang – represented by Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn – took on Christian Cage, Killswitch and Nick Wayne of The Patriarchy.

The title was vacated due to an injury to Jay White, who had previously been champion with the Gunns.

The Bang Bang Gang hoped to simply have Robinson step in as champion in White’s place, but new on-screen authority Christopher Daniels made it clear they couldn’t do that.

Instead, they had a match against The Patriarchy tonight, which was won by The Patriarchy, the new champion.

Shayna Wayne, Nick Wayne’s mother, sprayed something in Juice Robinson’s eyes when the referee had his back to her, allowing Christian Cage to take advantage and score the pin.
