The Bosque is open for the summer with mini golf, sand volleyball and more

The Bosque opened this summer in downtown San Angelo with mini golf, kayaks, bocce and more.

The Bosque is located at 330 S. Irving St. along the Concho River. The park is now open through September 1.

The playing field includes laundry pitching putting, oversized chess, putt-putt golf, sand volleyball, bocce ball and concessions.

Even if “The Grove” concession stand is closed, the Bosque area will be open to the public daily and people can bring their own equipment (washers, volleyballs, bocce ball) to use.

The park is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12:00 noon to 8:00 PM, closed on Wednesdays and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Here are the prices from the city of San Angelo:

Mini golf: €5 per game from 5 years. Groups of six and more (ages 5 and up) cost $3 each. Free for children under 5 years old.

Volley-ball: Free if you bring your own ball or $5 to rent a ball.

Jeu de boules ball: Free.

Washing machine pitching: Free.

Giant Chess: Free.

Kayaks – single: $10 per hour; double $15 per hour.

Stand-up paddle boarding: $10 per hour.

One day pass to use all equipment: $25.

The last opportunity to rent equipment is one hour before closing time. Only credit and debit cards are accepted.

“The Bosque is part of the overall Concho River Improvement Project, funded largely by a half-cent sales tax, along with a grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department,” the city said.
