The 2024 High School All-State Softball Teams As Chosen By Coaches

Six high school players from the region have been named to the 2024 South Dakota Softball Coaches Association all-state teams.

Catcher Lilly Jacobsen of Castlewood, designated player Roxanne Raml of Deuel, infielders Harley Johnson of Arlington and Haley Hlavacek of Florence-Henry, outfielder Cydni Kudrna of Castlewood and pitcher Katrina Hagberg of Deuel each made the Class B honors team. Johnson and Hlavacek are seniors, Raml and Hagberg are juniors and Jacobsen and Kudrna are freshmen.

Two other area players, catcher Hope Bjerke of Deuel and outfielder Sony Johnson of Arlington, each earned Class B honorable mentions. Bjerke is a senior and Johnson is a sophomore.

Castlewood finished second, Florence-Henry fifth and Deuel seventh in the Class B state championship.

Catcher Paxtyn Moller of Alcester-Hudson; infielders Charley Nelson of Viborg-Hurley, Reese Marek of Hanson, Delta Pies of Alcester-Hudson, Maia Achen of Gayville-Volin, Trinity Bietz of Scotland-Menno and Lexi Bauman of Chester; outfielders Cadence Jarding of Hanson, Ashya Flores of Elkton-Lake Benton and Jacy Wolf of Chester; and pitchers Emma Moller of Alcester-Hudson and Olivia Kayser of Hanson.

Pitcher Olivia Binde of Schotland-Menno also received an honourable mention.

Class AA

Catchers Avery Dorman of Sioux Falls Lincoln, DJ Schoby of Brandon Valley and Isabel Carda of Sioux Falls Washington; designated player Whitney Portner of Sioux Falls Jefferson; and infielders Norah Christensen of Sioux Falls Lincoln, Ashlen Johnson of Sioux Falls Jefferson, Madelyn Ducheneaux of Harrisburg, Peyton Amdahl of Brandon Valley and Tierney Schramm and Ava Brink of Sioux Falls Washington.

Outfielders Kierra Lubovich of Sioux Falls Lincoln, Alexa Harms of Brandon Valley, Chloe Ohelsen of Rapid City Stevens and Hailey Boer of Harrisburg; and pitchers Madison Evans of Sioux Falls Lincoln, Maddy Mescher of Sioux Falls Washington and Tya Devericks of Sioux Falls Jefferson.

Honorable mentions: Catcher Morgan Norgaard of Brookings; infielders Paxton Dekkers of Sioux Falls Lincoln and Nieva Cholicheski of Rapid City Stevens; and outfielder Ava Tobin of O’Gorman.

Class A, first class

Catchers Kalli Boom of Tea Area and Hanna Raethz of West Central; designated player Reagan Pearson of Tri-Valley; and infielders Jocelyn NIlson of West Central, Claire Wynja of Dell Rapids, Keely Merrigan of Beresford, Sydney Ganschow and Skyler Haines of Tea Area, Izzy Davey of Tri-Valley and Chandler Cleveland of Vermillion.

Outfielders Izzi Parsons of West Central, Kylee Fiddelke of Dell Rapids, Emersyn Erck of Tea Area and Reese Wilt of Tri-Valley; and forwards Amanda Vacanti of Madison, Caitlyn Hoff of West Central and Katie Kvigne of Dell Rapids.

Honorable mentions: Catcher Evie Lurz of Madison, outfielders Kylee Lebahn of Dell Rapids and Ava Christensen of Tri-Valley, and pitcher Emily Froendt of Tea Area.
