Teskey Brothers announced for A Day on the Green

BY JAMES TAYLOR

Soulful Australian siblings The Teskey Brothers will light up Australian outdoor venues and wineries this summer on their first A Day on the Green headline tour.

The five-time ARIA winners will be joined by a range of hand-picked international and Australian special guests at their exclusive series of outdoor shows, including in Geelong in January.

Supporting acts include American indie rockers Band of Horses, Americana, folk and roots artist Sierra Ferrell, the Australian debut of Irish singer-songwriter CMAT, and Australian singer and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Needs Braces.

Roundhouse Entertainment revealed the long-awaited return of The Teskey Brothers to Australia in 2025 earlier this week.

The A Day on the Green tour will be a homecoming for one of Australia’s most in-demand groups, having spent most of this year playing headline shows in the US, UK and Europe, as well as festivals including Bonnaroo and the Wilderness Festival.

“After many months on tour abroad, we are excited to bring the show home for this very special A Day On The Green run in January,” said Josh Teskey.

“To make it a full-day affair, it’s a huge thrill to bring together some of our favorite acts from around the world.

“Honoured to be joined by the epic Band of Horses, Nashville legend Sierra Ferrell, always excited to support CMAT and our local
favorite Charlie needs braces.

“Come join us for what will be a wonderful Day on the Green.”

Band of Horses play their first Australian shows since 2016.

With hits including ‘The Funeral’, ‘Laredo’ and ‘No One’s Gonna Love You’ and three ARIA Top 30 albums, the band has amassed a loyal following in Australia since its first tour here in 2006.

Originally from Seattle, their early records made them one of the most prominent indie rock bands of the time with their 2010 album. Infinite arms nominated for a Grammy.

Ferrell’s genre-blending style has captivated audiences around the world and made her one of today’s most in-demand musicians with her signature mesmerizing voice, vintage sound and eclectic mix of country, folk, Americana and blues.

During her last tour in 2022, her shows sold out across the country. Their duet ‘Holy Roller’ is now playing in the US with country superstar Zach Bryan and has amassed 46 million streams on Spotify alone.

CMAT’s (Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson) unique blend of indie pop and country has brought her to prominence since her 2022 debut. If my wife were new, I’d be deadwhich won the Choice Music Award for Irish Album of the Year.

Her powerful performances and clever songwriting have made her a distinctive voice in contemporary music with her latest album Crazy, to me nominated for a Brit Award and the Ivor Novello Award for Best Album.

Charlie Needs Braces is a solo project by Melbourne-based musician Charlie Woods, featuring live looping and original compositions.

As a Guringai woman, Charlie’s uplifting and energetic music interweaves stories, language and layered harmonies.

The Teskey Brothers and support play at Mt Duneed Estate, Waurn Ponds on January 11, 2025.

Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster on Thursday, June 27 at 12:00 PM, with pre-sales for AAMI members and pre-sales for A Day on the Green members beginning on Monday, June 24 at 10:00 AM.
