Stacey Dooley has left fans in awe after sharing a bizarre photo of US President Joe Biden in a promotional photo for West End show, 2:22 A Ghost Story.

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey, 37, who currently plays Jenny in the award-winning West End thriller, posted the message on Instagram Stories amid the ongoing US presidential campaign, which sees Biden battle former US President Donald Trump, who recently escaped assassination.

Taking to her Stories, Stacey shared a viral image of Biden, 81, photoshopped into promotional images for the hit play, reprising her role as Jenny. Alongside the photo, Stacey joked: “No f*ck. The internet, sometimes I just can’t do it.” The viral image comes as Biden continues his campaign to win over American citizens ahead of the presidential election.

In recent weeks, social media has been awash with users mocking the aging president, claiming he already has “one foot in the grave.” This led some creative social media users to suggest that Biden should play “the ghost” in 2:22 A Ghost Story.

Luton-born star Stacey took on the role of Jenny in 2:22 A Ghost Story in May. The role has previously been played by singers including Lily Allen and Girls Aloud star Cheryl.

Stacey, who won Strictly Come Dancing with partner Kevin Clifton in 2018, said she was more excited than nervous about landing the coveted theatre role ahead of her debut at the start of the summer.

Stacey told BBC Radio 1: “This play doesn’t feel too grandiose, but I’m so excited about the prospect. I like it for that reason, actually. It’s an experience and it’s a ghost story… it’s quite thought-provoking. So I’m not too worried about the critics and again, it’s so subjective.”

The show follows Jenny, who believes her new home is haunted. Her husband Sam doesn’t believe her, and the couple find themselves at odds with an old friend and her new partner, who are their first guests. The show has previously featured Busted singer Matt Willis, Harry Potter’s Tom Felton and Encanto’s Stephanie Beatriz.
