Who will captain India in the ODIs and T20Is against Sri Lanka?

Media outlet Sport branch has given some important updates on Team India’s selection for the tour of Sri Lanka. KL Rahul is set to lead the side in the ODI format, while Hardik Pandya would take charge of the T20I team.

Pandya was an obvious choice for T20Is, unlike Rahul. The Baroda-born all-rounder was the vice-captain of the team that won the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados.

Newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir will oversee the meeting from a distance. Gambhir will also make some surprise decisions for the T20 series against Sri Lanka, with a view to defining a core group of players for the format.
