Former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III is an interesting cat. We’ve known this for over a decade of his publicity.

There is nothing particularly strange about it RGIII — He’s just a little goofy. If you’ve ever seen the classic Jim Carrey comedy from 1997, you’ll remember him referring to his ex-wife’s new boyfriend as “magoo.” That’s a perfect description of Robert Griffin III.

The most recent example of RGIII’s idiosyncrasy was his recent trip to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games, which he and his wife participated in.

In a photo posted to Twitter, RGIII and his wife Grete Griffin are seen enjoying a Lady and the Tramp spaghetti maneuver with a croissant, one of the most recognizable dishes from France.

While the photo is generally harmlessly cringy, what makes it go viral on Twitter is the fact that RGIII is in it a lot more than his wife — literally. While Grete doesn’t even take a bite of the croissant, Griffin appears to have popped a good chunk of it into his mouth.

Griffin’s former teammate Torrey Smith — the pair both played for the Ravens during the 2018 preseason — took notice right away, as he quoted and tweeted RGIII’s post, which read, “They about to cook you.” Looking at the photo, it’s not hard to see why.

“You can’t even eat a croissant with your wife through this app anymore,” RGIII replied to the tweet after it went viral.

“This is the most dangerous game of Create the Caption we’ve ever seen,” the sports media company tweeted Terrible announcement.

“I can’t believe he thought this photo was a good idea,” another one viral reaction to read.

“The internet is unforgiving. Good luck,” warned former NFL player and current media member Geoff Schwartz.

RGIII, who won the 2011 Heisman, was selected second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins.

Although RGIII’s career started out promising, he was named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2012. Injuries, however, spoiled his career and he only played four seasons with Washington, finishing his career with the Browns in 2016 and the Ravens from 2018 to 2020.
