Piacenza > Turin 230km

A 230km sprint stage in the first week of the race, it feels like we’ve gone back in time. First we get to see who the leaders are in this race, the guys who go out on the road with basically no chance of winning. Who in the peloton is willing to go in a small breakaway of almost 200km, with headwind? I would bet on Alexis Renard and Thomas Gachignard. Everyone knows this is going to be a sprint, much respect for the leaders in this stage.
