The Snowmass Rodeo kicked off its 50th anniversary season Wednesday with the first rodeo of the summer and the first rodeo held on the redesigned arena grounds. Most notably, the main stand and broadcast booth have been moved, giving guests a very different backdrop than in the past.

The changes to the arena grounds were part of a larger $6.5 million beautification project by the city of Snowmass Village. This included updates to the entrance to Snowmass Village, parking improvements and other minor improvements to Snowmass Town Park.

To celebrate the completion of the project, a community ribbon cutting ceremony will take place next Wednesday, June 26, at the start of that evening’s rodeo, around 7 p.m.

“We are so excited that the rodeo will celebrate 50 years of Western heritage in Snowmass this summer,” Snowmass Rodeo Chairman Jim Snyder said in a news release. “Snowmass has long been our home and with the new TOSV approved facility we are very much looking forward to another 50 years and beyond.”

The Snowmass Rodeo takes place every Wednesday evening through August 21st. For more information, visit snowmassrodeo.org.
