Paris Olympics live: Women’s marathon, Opals play for bronze basketball medal, cyclists wrap up 2024 campaign

Before we can all listen with tears in our eyes to the first strains of Good Riddance amid a montage of Australian and international Olympic glory, we have a few more medals to hand out.

And it starts with the women’s marathon on the difficult street course of Paris in five minutes.

After a controversial selection process, Australia will be represented by Sinéad Duikerwho finished tenth in Tokyo, Jessica Stenson And Genevieve Gregson.

Kenyan world record holder and defending champion Peres Jepchirchirgold medalist in the 5,000m and 10,000m in Tokyo Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands and the highest-ranking Ethiopian Tigst Assefa are all things to keep an eye on.
