Omaha Supernovas sign Kayla Caffey on free agent signing day

OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) – The Omaha Supernovas have announced the signing of former Nebraska All-American middle blocker Kayla Caffey as part of their free agent signing day.

Caffey played last season in the Pro Volleyball Federation for the Grand Rapids Rise, the league’s runner-up in the championship match against the Supernovas. She played in 19 matches with 17 starts, with 81 kills (.293), 39 digs, 37 blocks, four aces and four assists.

Following her college career, which included stops at Missouri, Nebraska and Texas, Caffey played one season with the Athletes Unlimited Pro League in 2023, scoring 1,676 points (32nd best in the league), recording 50 kills and 26 blocks in 30 sets. She made her professional debut with Criollas de Caguas in Puerto Rico during the 2022-23 season.

Caffey won a national championship in Texas in 2022 after finishing nationally second in Nebraska in 2021.
