Oakley’s Jim Jannard breaks Jay Z and Beyonce’s record for California’s most expensive home, selling Malibu complex for $210 million

“Thank you for showing the mental struggles of your Pipeline journey.”

The convergence of surfing and influencing has been one of the most delightful pieces of our modern era. Surfing on its own is generally pointless. Feed a river of half-baked narcissists with even less value in them etc voila… a bouillabaisse of shame, so delicious it deserves a Michelin star.

And let’s meet Jade, who at the age of 19 decided she wanted to surf Pipeline.

Jade’s inspiring video diary begins with a phone call to her surf coach asking, “Say a beginner, and that beginner is me, wanted to surf Pipeline?” It’s unclear why she even has a ‘surfing coach’, but he replies that she should train really hard, discuss how deadly the wave is etc.

Maybe she ignores his advice, leaves her dad and then travels to Oahu’s iconic North Shore to do vlogger stuff, discusses her “training” which includes surf skating, and finally she was done. Jade paddled out on a Rob Machado surfboard, “body shaking” and eventually rolled into a 2-foot burger, realizing the dream, so to speak.

A few rough apples pointed out that she wasn’t surfing Pipe, but rather Gums, and out of season with no swell, though the general tide was filled with praise and awe.

Son of the Sun stated, “Thank you for showing me the mental struggles of your Pipeline journey. I feel like the frustration of setbacks is often just ignored on social media, and it’s so inspiring to see you experience it all!!!”

Annie McCoy added, “I don’t know you, but when I saw you surfing the Pipeline I was beaming from ear to ear. That was amazing! Well done Jade!!!!”

Roam with Reda shared: “Recently I surfed Pipe for the first time. Maybe ~6 foot tall faces were terrified to be there lol, but I loved it once I got over the fear.”

R. Goodrich simply said, “You love surfing the pipeline!! Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see if you end up getting sponsored.”

It went on and on, which brings us back to Filipe Toledo. Will Jade surf Teahupo’o with no experience next?

More so as the story develops.
