According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Minnesota Vikings do not believe wide receiver Jordan Addison’s ankle injury is “serious.”

Addison is scheduled to be tested again on Monday after being sidelined for the fourth quarter of Sunday’s season opener against the New York Giants, Rapoport said.

Addison appeared to walk under his own power to the medical tent with 10 minutes left in the third quarter before the Vikings ruled him out for the rest of the game. He had three catches for 35 yards before the injury.

It was not immediately clear whether Sunday’s outage was related to the earlier sprain he suffered during a training session on August 14, in which he was carried to the locker room.

Addison told reporters before Week 1 that the August injury was “not serious.”

“I’ve had them a lot,” Addison said after he was listed as “questionable” on the Vikings’ injury report on Thursday, according to Dane Mizutani of the Pioneer Press. “As soon as it happened, I was like, ‘I already know what it is. It’s not that big of a deal.’ I knew I was going to be back Week 1. It wasn’t anything serious.”

Addison added: “I feel great. I’m 100 percent.”

He was subsequently added to the injury list on Friday as a full member of the team, before making his season debut on Sunday.

Addison stepped in for the Vikings when star forward Justin Jefferson suffered a hamstring injury during his rookie season in 2023. He made 14 starts and recorded 70 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns.

After KJ Osborn left this offseason to join the New England Patriots, Addison entered his sophomore NFL campaign as the clear No. 2 receiver behind Jefferson.

If Addison misses a game, the Vikings could give more opportunities to reserve wide receiver Jalen Nailor, who caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Darnold in Sunday’s season opener.
