Navy ship INS Sunayna completes two-day visit to Port Louis

Indian Naval Ship INS Sunayna completed its two-day visit to Port Louis on Monday. During the two-day visit, the Indian Navy and Mauritius National Coast Guard personnel participated in a joint yoga session to mark the International Day of Yoga and sports competitions.

During the ship’s visit, the Commander of INS Sunayna, Cdr. Prabhat Ranjan Mishra appealed to Indian High Commissioner K. Nandini Singla and Police Commissioner MPF Anil Kr. Dive. During the interaction, emphasis was placed on operational engagement and confidence building measures in various aspects of maritime security.

The ship also took part in a friendly volleyball match with the Mauritius Coast Guard. In an outreach program at Gayasingh Ashram in Port Louis, medical screening of the elderly and distribution of provisions were undertaken to extend a helping hand to the community.

The ship was open to visitors and saw over 200 guests on board. The visitors also received a tour of the ship and its capabilities. To commemorate the International Day of Yoga 2024, a joint yoga session was also held on board the INS Sunayna and MCGS Barracuda in Port Louis.
