Mott announces 2024 volleyball slate

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Head volleyball coach at Austin Peay State University Taylor Moth announced the 2024 Governors 28-game slate on Thursday.

The Governors kick off the season with five consecutive weekends, starting with the Memphis Invitational, August 30-31. While in Memphis, the Governors face Tennessee Tech, Mississippi Valley State and host Memphis.

The following weekend, the Govs head to the Middle Tennessee Invitational, September 6-7, to face Southeast Missouri, Lehigh and host Middle Tennessee.

The Governors then travel to St. Charles, Missouri for the Lindenwood Invitational on September 14, where they will face Southern Illinois and Lindenwood in the one-day event.

The following weekend, the Govs conclude preconference play at the Western Kentucky Alyssa Cavanaugh Classic in Bowling Green, Kentucky, September 20-21, taking on Eastern Illinois, Arkansas State and host WKU.

The Govs’ 16-game Atlantic Sun Conference also begins with a road trip through Bluegrass State, where they will face Bellarmine, September 27, and Eastern Kentucky, September 29.

The Governors’ highly anticipated home opening weekend begins in October against Lipscomb, Oct. 4, and ASUN newcomer West Georgia, Oct. 5, at the Winfield Dunn Center. They stay home the following weekend to host North Alabama, Oct. 11, and Central Arkansas, Oct. 12.

After the four-game homestand, the Govs head to the Sunshine State for games against Jacksonville, Oct. 18, and North Florida, Oct. 19, both held in Jacksonville, Florida

After returning from Florida, Austin Peay opens its final five-game homestand of the season against Stetson, Oct. 25, and a Homecoming game against reigning ASUN champion Florida Gulf Coast, Oct. 26, before hosting Chattanooga for a midweek game, Oct. 29 . The home schedule ends with games against Eastern Kentucky, Nov. 1, and Bellarmine, Nov. 2.

The Govs complete the regular season on the road, starting with a quick trip to Lipscomb, Nov. 5, in Nashville before heading to Florence, Alabama to play North Alabama on Nov. 8. APSU faces Central Arkansas on November 10 in Conway, Arkansas before its final regular season game against Queens, November 16, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The ASUN Conference Volleyball Championship will be held November 21-23 in Ft. Myers, FL. The NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship will begin two weeks later and will begin at campus locations.
