Michael Essien is not broke, so stop the negativity – Osei Kuffour

Ex-Black Stars defender Sammy Osei Kuffour has expressed concern over the negativity among Ghanaians.

He believes that it is time for the country to be cleansed of negativity.

Sammy Osei Kuffour’s comments come in the wake of claims that Michael Essien is bankrupt as two of his properties are auctioned following the order of the Supreme Court.

The former footballer said: “To put out the news and say that Michael is broke is a shame. It’s a shame that we think so negatively about our people. We have to be positive; Michael is not broke. We are talking about a house they took from him, which cost $20 million, and another one that cost $30 million.

“No one in good conscience is going to come out and say all kinds of things. You’ve never talked to the person; you never know exactly what the person is going through. So how can you justify someone being broke? You should know If he goes to comes to your house and begs for food, I know what assets Michael has, and I will not stand anywhere and say Michael is filthy rich,” said Sammy Osei Kuffour.
