Marcus Stoinis dethrones Mohammad Nabi to become number 1 all-rounder

Australia’s Marcus Stoinis on Wednesday overthrew Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi as the number one all-rounder in the latest ICC T20 rankings.

Stoinis snared six wickets and also made valuable contributions with the bat to help Australia reach the Super Eights in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

While Stoinis moved up one spot to become the main all-rounder, Nabi dropped three places, while Sri Lanka skipper Wanindu Hasaranga and Bangladesh veteran Shakib Al Hasan also climbed to second and third spots respectively.

The West Indies bowlers have performed the best in the tournament so far and the rankings reflect that.

Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein has moved up six places and is second on the bowlers’ list led by England spinner Adil Rashid.

Alzarri Joseph has also moved up six places to eleventh, while teammate Gudakesh Motie has moved up sixteen places in the rankings to thirteenth.

Indian Suryakumar Yadav retained his place as the top-ranked batsman in the shortest format, while Phil Salt, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are at second, third and fourth positions respectively.

Australian opener Travis Head has risen five places to fifth, while West Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran has risen eight places to 11th.

West Indies’ Sherfane Rutherford jumped from 43 places to 42nd.
