Liverpool want to sign Argentine defender Julio Soler

Liverpool are interested in Argentine defender Julio Soler.

The 19-year-old is highly rated in South America and his performances have caught the attention of the Premier League club. Liverpool have already contacted Solers club Lanus about a possible transfer. It will be interesting to see if they can complete the deal.

According to a report via the Mirror, Liverpool are considering appointing the South American defender as a successor to Andrew Robertson.

The Scotland international has been exceptional for Liverpool since joining from Hull City. He has helped them win every trophy at club level, but his performances last season were rather poor. He has had his fair share of injury problems over the past 12 months and his form has also dipped.

Although Liverpool still have an option in Kostas Tsimikas, the team wants to build for the future and has therefore identified the 19-year-old Argentine as a suitable replacement.

Julio Soler would be an investment for the future

Soler has the potential to play for the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to join Liverpool would be attractive to him. They could provide him with the platform to showcase his qualities in Europe. They have a proven track record of consistently pushing for major trophies.

Playing football regularly in England could accelerate his development and help him realise his enormous potential, while a move to the Premier League could also help him break into the national team.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can reach an agreement with his club Lanus in the coming weeks. Liverpool will need to add more quality and depth to their squad this summer if they want to compete with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
