Labor Day Activities in Southern Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — There are plenty of Labor Day events happening this weekend in Southern Arizona.

Check out some of the many activities and events taking place this weekend:

Green Chili Festival:

The Green Chile Festival, hosted by Four Arrows Garden in Vail, takes place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Four Arrows Garden will be roasting Hatch Green Chile on site in a giant chili roaster.

Chili is sold in 1 Gallon Size ziplock bags for $15 each. Ready to take home and prepare or freeze.

Arizona Football Home Game:

The Arizona Wildcats open their season with a game against the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Arizona Stadium.

HoCo Record Fair:

The annual HOCO Record Fair returns on Saturday from 10am to 3pm at Hotel Congress, featuring local and regional vinyl vendors selling their wares.

The event is free to attend, local DJs will provide the music.

Confrontation in Tombstone:

The annual Showdown in Tombstone is back this weekend. The showdown will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Showdown in Tombstone activities include free street entertainment, including 1880s fashion shows and shootouts, raffles, the Vigilante Hanging Tree and more.

Gem, Mineral and Fossil Shows in Tucson:

This weekend there will be several exhibitions about gemstones, minerals and fossils.

Sonoita Labor Day Rodeo:

The Sonoita Labor Day Rodeo takes place August 31 through September 2 at the Sonoita Fairgrounds.

Gates open at 10am each day. It is a GCPRA sanctioned event. There is a junior rodeo before the main event at 2pm.

Tucson Comic-Con:
