Klopp or Alonso to be the next manager of Real Madrid

Klopp or Alonso to be the next manager of Real Madrid

Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing two big names to replace Carlo Ancelotti next summer: Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso and former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Although Ancelotti still has a contract with Real Madrid until 2026, it seems that the experienced Italian tactician may leave a little earlier. According to Todo Fichajes, there is a big offer on the table from a club in the Saudi Pro League.

Alonso played for Real Madrid and was very successful there, so he would undoubtedly be a popular choice for the Spanish giants, especially as he now seems to have a great career in management as well.

Alonso led Leverkusen to their first ever Bundesliga title last season, unbeaten, as well as reaching the Europa League final and winning the domestic cup.

Klopp, meanwhile, is available following his departure from Liverpool and is exactly the kind of big name Real fans would also be happy to welcome to the Bernabeu.

Will Ancelotti be replaced by Alonso or Klopp?

It may be a bit early for Alonso to take on such a stressful job, but he looks set to become one of the best coaches in football in the near future, as his early successes at Leverkusen show.

Klopp may boast trophies and medals from Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, but he may have seemed a little blasé after a difficult end to his time at Anfield last season.

By the time Real consider replacing Ancelotti, the German tactician will have had a year off, and he may be ready to return to top-level training.

It will be interesting to watch this saga over the coming months, and we can imagine other managers coming into the picture for this role.
