She may have won the gold medal in Paris, but Olympic athlete Keely Hodgkinson is also going for gold in the fashion world.

The British 800m star celebrated her podium victory on Tuesday in style with her family on a yacht off Spain’s Costa del Sol.

Wearing a green string bikini and white crochet wrap, the 22-year-old swapped her running shoes for a pair of green leather Louis Vuitton slides worth £860.

Her accessories had an equally luxurious price tag, with a Balenciaga Ibiza Basket Bag on her arm, which retailed for £850, and a pair of Chanel sunglasses worth £510.

From Paris to the Costa del Sol: Keely Hodgkinson’s celebrations for her Team GB gold medal began in earnest this weekend as the 22-year-old middle-distance runner boarded a yacht in Marbella

The athlete, who graced the cover of Elle magazine last month, previously revealed that she follows the mantra of “look good, feel good” to gain an edge during competitions.

But her glamorous beach look from last week – complete with bright purple acrylic nails specially designed to complement the colour of the Paris circuit – shows she’s now enjoying her well-deserved victory with the same focus.

Keely was spotted in Puerto Banus, near Marbella, on board a yacht organised for the star by hospitality brand La Sala Lifestyle. A banner with the Olympic rings and a gold medal hung on it, with the well-meaning but ungrammatical message: ‘Congratulations on your gold medal Keely Hodgkinson’.

She and two friends chatted as they sunbathed on the deck. When the boat returned to port, the group sat at an outdoor bar, sipping pitchers of what looked like sangria.

Clubhouse Marbella, part of the La Sala group, wrote in an Instagram post: ‘What a pleasure to watch @keely.hodgkinson, Olympic 800m gold medallist, celebrating her victory on the @lasalalifestyle yacht today!’

Hodgkinson won the women’s 800m final to claim her first Olympic gold. At the 2020 Games in Tokyo, she won a silver medal, breaking Dame Kelly Holmes’ British record from 20 years ago.

Her winning time was 1:56.71, almost a second faster than Ethiopian silver medalist Tsige Duguma.

Keely had previously stated that a family holiday in Marbella was her “first priority” after the Games, along with the opportunity to buy a beige Porsche if she won gold.

Luxury fashion brands are also said to have caught her eye and she already has partnerships with Rimmel London, Nike, watch brand Omega and sports nutrition company Maurten.

The image of the athlete wearing a crown after her victory on Tuesday evening is already being turned into a work of art.
