It is indeed “here we go” time! According to multiple sources, Manchester United are set to make Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee their first signing of the summer. The Dutchman, whose national team were knocked out of the Euros by England last night, will be the very first addition of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe/INEOS era.

United are paying around £34m/€40m for the striker, but that will not happen via the release clause in his contract.

Instead, payments will be made in installments over three years.

As you can see in the embedded tweet above, global transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has just “called it”. Zirkzee will sign a five-year contract and now that the finances have been agreed, all that remains is a medical (which will take place in the coming days) and the paperwork. TalkSPORT reports that personal terms have been agreed.

Both manager Erik ten Hag and new assistant coach Ruud van Nistelrooy played a crucial role in the transfer of the 23-year-old Dutch attacker to Old Trafford.

Joshua Zirkzee chose United over AC Milan. We have been covering this transfer saga extensively throughout and you can read more about it here , here and here .

After Joshua Zirkzee, the next signing will likely be Bayern Munich central defender and fellow international Matthijs de Ligt.
