Jalen Brunson named Knicks team captain

Jalen Brunson has been named captain of the New York Knicks, the first time the franchise has had a player in that role since Lance Thomas in 18-19.

Brunson is the 36th captain in franchise history.

The Knicks signed Brunson during the 2022 offseason and he finished fifth in MVP voting last season.

“The New York Knicks have a rich and storied history and we are extremely proud to continue that tradition today by naming Jalen Brunson as our captain,” said Leon Rose.
