Jake Paul claims Conor McGregor’s internet persona and win without a fight have diminished his superstar power

YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul believes the hype of ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor is dying down. The 27-year-old recently branded the former two-division champion an ’embarrassment’ after not winning a fight in ‘six or seven years’.

On Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour podcast to promote his upcoming boxing match against Mike Perry, ‘The Problem Child’ talked about how the Irishman ruined his own legacy with drugs and his online persona. Paul’s younger brother called McGregor a maniac and said he felt sympathy for ‘The Notorious’ and claimed the latter had gone crazy.

“I don’t think people really care about him… there’s new sheriffs in town, he hasn’t been in a fight, he hasn’t won a fight in six to seven years… He’s embarrassing himself, he’s ruining his legacy with all the drugs and the way he looks online. He’s gone crazy, he’s a maniac and… man, I feel sorry for him now.’

With Mike ‘The Platinum’ Perry also joining Paul on the show, Helwani had to spice things up a bit and asked the bare-knuckle beast if he wanted McGregor present for their upcoming fight on July 20.

While both Perry and Paul wanted the Irish superstar to be in attendance, Paul, who was never shy to talk about the UFC, went after Conor and essentially called him irrelevant.

While he didn’t mention McGregor’s canceled UFC 303 main event, Paul did point out that the former UFC champion’s last victory inside the octagon was years ago and underscored his point that the “Mystic Mac” show was definitely over.

However, for all McGregor’s trash talk, it wasn’t the Irishman who wanted to meet Paul in an octagon.

Jake Paul wants Mike Perry in the Octagon

Paul will make his MMA debut with PFL, confirmed by company president Donn Davis. But no date has been revealed for his debut yet as the 27-year-old is now quite busy with his boxing commitments.

However, Paul is more than willing to step things up and meet Perry in the octagon or even head over to Perry’s empire in BKFC (unwise, to be honest).

When asked about the chances of a two-fight deal, Paul got candid and revealed his thoughts.

“I think Perry and I in MMA or bare knuckle are very interesting, let’s see what happens on July 20th and I’m down, I want to do an MMA fight and Perry is actually a good opponent for MMA and maybe with bare knuckles, that’s what I did ‘I didn’t think about it, but I’m down.’

Seeing oneself as a “crazy bastardPaul said he didn’t mind the fight with Mike Perry. However, given the way Perry fights usually end, especially ones where he doesn’t have gloves, Paul will have to be a “crazy son of a bitch” to take him on.
