Ironheart’s First Clips Premiere at D23

Ironheart’s First Clips Premiere at D23

Since Disney announced plans to reduce the number of Marvel shows heading to Disney+, the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever spinoff series, Ironheart, has taken a bit of a back seat. But at D23, Marvel finally debuted new footage of Dominique Thorne reprising her role as Riri Williams in her own show.

Marvel hasn’t released any of the Ironheart clips yet, but we can tell you that Riri is back at MIT and she doesn’t have the same resources she did in Wakanda Forever. Community’s Jim Rash is resurfacing as the MIT dean from Captain America: Civil War , and it looks like Riri is getting expelled.

Riri wants more than anything to rebuild her Ironheart armor. That’s where Anthony Ramos’ Parker Robbins comes in. Parker may not be The Hood yet, but he leads Riri down a dark path as they steal what she needs for the suit. At first glance, her new armor looks more handcrafted than the suit she built in Wakanda. Riri also seems to realize that what she’s doing is wrong, but she does it anyway.

Executive producer Ryan Coogler, as well as Thorne and other cast members, were at Marvel’s D23 presentation. And they confirmed that Ironheart will premiere on Disney+ in 2025.

Meanwhile, the Daredevil: Born Again trailer was a sensation for D23 audiences, as was the Human Torch costume in The Fantastic Four: First Steps . Star Wars was well represented with a trailer for Skeleton Crew and the first footage of The Mandalorian and Grogu . Toy Story 5 is also on the way, and Avatar 3 finally has a name.
