Iran to start 2024 Asian U20 Women’s Volleyball Championship on low flame

TEHRAN – Iran lost in three sets (25-18, 25-16, 25-19) to Vietnam at the 2024 Asian U20 Women’s Volleyball Championship at the Jiangmen Sports Center Gymnasium on Tuesday.

Padideh Bolourizadeh’s team will play against powerhouse Thailand in Group C on Wednesday.

The competition started on July 2 in Jiangmen, China and will last until July 8.

A total of 12 teams will compete for top honors and four starting spots for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U21 World Championship.

Group A consists of China, Kazakhstan and Australia. Japan, India and Hong Kong are in Group B and South Korea, Chinese Taipei and New Zealand are in Group D.

Japan is the reigning champion.
