The final selection for the upcoming summer games.

As the National Olympic Committees have exclusive authority over the representation of their respective teams at the Olympic Games, athletes’ participation in Paris 2024 depends on the choice of their NOC to represent their representatives.

Last month’s Shanghai leg saw some fantastic Australian performances. Teen prodigy Ariza True was the star of the show as the 14-year-old defeated Japan’s Tokyo 2020 silver medalist Hiroaki Kokona and reigning Olympic champion Yosozumi Sakura in the women’s park skateboarding event.

Ariza is currently in second place in the rankings, behind Hiraki. She will certainly make it, but hopes to make her mark with another dominant performance in Budapest.

Ruby Drew, who is not related to Ariza, is ranked sixth in the world and is also looking to secure the women’s park quota. Each NOC can only be allocated three quota seats per gender per event.

In men’s park skateboarding, reigning Olympic champion Keegan Palmer, who finished second in Shanghai, is ready to defend his title, while compatriots Kieran Woolley and Kiefer Wilson are also in comfortable places.

Ash Wilcoms is outside the box, but a strong performance in Budapest could help Australia secure three possible quotas.

2023 X Games gold medalist Chloe Covell finished fourth in the women’s street rankings after finishing eighth in Shanghai. Liv Lovelace and Felicity Turner are also in the hunt for assignment in the segment.

Tokyo 2020 gold medalist Logan Martin comes second in the men’s BMX freestyle after his second-place finish in Shanghai. Martin’s fellow BMX Olympian Natalya Diehm needs a solid performance in Budapest to break into the top six at ninth.

The Budapest stage will also be the last chance for Australian b-boys and b-girls and sport climbers to secure a quota for Paris 2024.
