Harry Kane refuses to lift trophy after Bayern Munich beat Tottenham

Harry Kane ended his trophy drought at Bayern Munich on Saturday as the side lifted the Visit Malta Cup against Tottenham.

Kane came on as a substitute as Bayern won 3-2 on his first return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since leaving last summer.

Dejan Kulusevski scored both goals for Tottenham Hotspur, including the opening goal in the first minute, while Dayot Upamecano, Serge Gnabry and Thomas Muller all scored for the German giants.

When the time came to lift the trophy, Kane, clearly emotional, refused to hold it aloft out of respect for his former club, despite being urged to do so by one of his teammates.

Before the match, Kane and former Spurs defender Eric Dier received a special gift from Ledley King in memory of his time at the club.

Despite failing to win a single trophy in his debut season at Bayern, the England international enjoyed a fantastic individual season, scoring 44 goals in 45 games in all competitions.

Kane is hoping to win major trophies next season, while Bayern want to win the Champions League and Bayer want to deprive Leverkusen of the Bundesliga title.
