‘Greatest White Ball Bowler Ever’: Jasprit Bumrah Highly Rated While Michael Vaughan Ignores Wasim Akram

During a Cricbuzz show, Vaughan dissected Bumrah’s bowling and hailed him as the best white-ball bowler ever.

“That first one to Reeza Hendricks is absolutely a peach. It’s probably angled in and probably hits the leg stump and at the last moment it swings away and hits the off stump. That ball that Jansen hits again is just angled through the gate but it’s more than that. It’s the other deliveries where you know the batters are trying to hit him and he just follows them a bit so they don’t get any width and then he sees they get a bit of space and he bowls it a bit wider, he’s got that slower ball which is a brilliant delivery. I honestly think he’s the best seam bowler who’s ever played white ball cricket.”

“If you can tell me a better seam bowler. I know Wasim Akram was special and there’s a lot more to mention, but I just think he’s got great action and he’s got the pace, he’s got all the different skills and he does it under pressure day in and day out. It’s not just two or three times at the World Cup. It’s pretty much every game.”
