The winners with club captain Danny Knox.

GOUROCK Golf Club hosted its annual Gillen Open.

Members from golf courses from across Scotland were welcome to take part and test their skills on the fairways and greens of Gourock.

With the sun shining and the course in excellent condition, scoring turned out to be a must.

In the coarse section, Gourock’s Robert Clark set the early pace as he got off to a great start and was three under through the first thirteen holes, but with Matthew Chamberlain and Callum Watters applying pressure a couple of bogeys were to follow.

Robert eventually posted a one-over round of 74, which was enough to take home the trophy and collect the first major gross match of the season.

In the net section, Robert Davis, also from Gourock, scored his best ever score with a fantastic 76 gross, finishing with a net 66, helping Robert McAdam take the title.

The club thanks the greenkeepers for their off-season work to prepare the course and sponsors BRBR Ardgowan Square for its support.
