Florida State baseball’s highly anticipated rematch with No. 1 Tennessee in the College World Series will be further postponed.

And this time it’s not thanks to Mother Nature.

Because No. 2 Kentucky vs. Florida, which was postponed until Wednesday morning at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha because of Tuesday’s long rain, FSU’s CWS semifinal against Tennessee will not start at 3 p.m. ET.

As noted by Michael Wilson of the Knoxville News Sentinel, the NCAA mandates a minimum of 65 minutes between games at the CWS to allow teams to warm up and grounds crews to prepare the field.

Originally scheduled for a first pitch at 3:00 PM ET, FSU vs. Tennessee now 65 minutes after the conclusion of Kentucky vs. Florida on Wednesday, June 19 at Omaha’s Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. You can watch the game on ESPN or on Fubo, which supports the ESPN family of networks and offers a free trial to select users.

The Seminoles and Vols were pushed as early as 3:00 PM ET on Wednesday – from 2:00 PM ET – after the NCAA postponed the Wildcats and Gators elimination game from Tuesday night to Wednesday at 11:00 AM ET due to bad weather in Omaha Tuesday night. At the time of this article, Kentucky-Florida is currently in the sixth inning.

It’s the first time the Seminoles will play the Volunteers since last Friday night’s controversial ending following Blake Burke’s check swing that led to Tennessee running away with a 12-11 lead. FSU must beat Tennessee twice, Wednesday and Thursday, to advance to the best-of-three College World Series championship series.
