France’s Macron condemns Iran’s attacks on Israel

(Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron said he strongly condemns Iran’s new attacks on Israel, adding that the country, in a sign of its commitment to Israel’s security, would on Wednesday deploy its military assets in the Middle East has mobilized.

Macron reiterated France’s demand that Hezbollah cease its terrorist actions against Israel and its people, the French presidency said in a statement.

Macron also wished that Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity be restored in strict accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions, the presidency statement said.

Iran said early on Wednesday that its missile attack on Israel had ended unless further provocation, while Israel and the US vowed to retaliate for Tehran’s escalation as fears of a wider war grew.
