Four Sligo surfers to represent Ireland at Junior Eurosurf Championships

Sligo will be well represented at this year’s Junior Eurosurfing Championships in Portugal.

Páraic McSharry, Oscar Choo and the Murphy brothers Tom and Rory have all been called up to represent Ireland at the upcoming surfing tournament.

All four are members of the Donegal Bay Boardriders club.

They are part of a panel of 12 competitors, of which six boys and six girls are on the Irish team this year.

Páraic McSharry from Streedagh and Rory Murphy from Cliffoney will represent Ireland in the U16 category, while Oscar Choo from Strandhill and Tom Murphy will surf for the U18s.

The tournament will also be covered by RTÉ as part of an eight-part documentary due out later this year.

The Eurosurf Junior Championships will be held from 18 to 26 July in Santa Cruz, Portugal.
