FormaL announces return to competitive CoD, but one feature could thwart his plans

Esports legend FormaL has made it clear that he is considering a return to competitive Duty nearly three years after he announced his retirement, but there is one gameplay feature that Activision should get right: Codfish‘over-the-top’ aiming aid.

The 29-year-old Halo And Codfish veteran has recently strongly hinted that he would like to check out Black Ops 6 this September—and he’s so interested that he might even pick up the controller and go pro again. “I plan on (Black Ops 6), I plan on playing that fucking shit professionally,” he said in July, though he wouldn’t divulge anything when questioned by Scump during coverage of the Codfish Championships.

Fuel was added to the FormaL fire in a stream on August 2 with the ex-Codfish legend and 100 Thieves frontman Nadeshot, who almost offered him a spot on the LA Thieves roster. “If you want to come back, bro, you’re in – LA Thieves, book it, bro. You can stay on OpTic with Hector, but you gotta rock LAT when you play with us,” Nadeshot declared, before saying he “wasn’t trolling.” We’ll take that with a grain of salt, but FormaL certainly sounds interested in a Codfish return in any way.

One thing stands in the way, because FormaL goes off while watching older Codfish tournaments – how much goal assist plays a role in modern times Codfish. “Since War zonehas been introduced, dynamic aim assist and all that extra shit has drastically changed multiplayer Codfish,” FormaL said while showing off the 2017 final between his team OpTic and Luminosity. “That’s one thing that scares me away from actually going back to Codfish and go really hard.”

An integral part of the modern Codfish gameplay experience is the addition and further customization of aim assist, especially since crossplay between PC and console became the norm in 2019 Modern warfare. FormaL believes it has become a major blot on the game and hopes the feature will be rolled back significantly in Black Ops 6.

Given the introduction of omnidirectional motion, a return to the pre-Modern warfare levels of aim assist can be a huge hindrance to those on consoles. Nadeshot’s stance on aim assist was made clear back in April: Codfish needs aiming assistance because Codfish the console community needs.

If Treyarch and Raven Software can find a good balance, FormaL might just make a surprising return to the competitive market. Codfish. We will learn more about Black Ops 6 bee Codfish The next release is in August, before the game comes out in October.
