Family of Crazy Town’s Shifty Shellshock speaks candidly about singer’s death

The late singer’s family expressed their loss in an emotional statement. The sun on Saturday.

“For Seth, the world was art. He loved everything about it, from music and fashion to graffiti, skateboarding and his hometown of Los Angeles,” the family said in a statement.

The “Butterfly” singer, whose real name is Seth Binzer, is survived by three sons, Halo, Gage and Phoenix, which his family called “his proudest achievements.”

“He loved his three sons more than anything, and his dedication to his music and fans never wavered,” the statement said.

The singer has opened up about his battles with addiction and his journey to sobriety that led to his unexpected death. His former manager, Howie Hubberman, told People that the cause of death was “a combination of prescription drugs and street drugs” and said: “We all tried, but in the end we all failed, otherwise Shifty would still be here.”

“Seth struggled with addiction his entire life, he did so on a very public platform, which was extremely challenging,” the family’s statement said. “God knows he tried so hard to battle his demons, but unfortunately, he lost his battle.”

“Seth was a troubled soul, but he was a beautiful person and he had a heart of gold.”

His ex-girlfriend Sun Moon Frye also recently spoke openly about the singer’s passing in an Instagram post featuring adorable photos of the two.

“My heart whispers ‘I love you’ a million times for the way you loved my children and me so unconditionally,” she wrote alongside a carousel of images from their relationship on Instagram“I can still see your smiling, sweet face when you kissed me in your tunnel of love in high school and the way you dragged me back along as we grew up to show me what that timeless love feels like.”

“No words can ever express the love we shared or how we feel right now. It’s a language unto itself,” Frye continued in her tribute. “So for now, I will use all of your strength to hold on to the words you asked me with your beautiful morning voice on the beach as you covered me in kisses.”

In addition to being one of the co-founders of Crazy Town, he has also ventured into other roles in the music industry, such as songwriting, production and sound mixing. He previously described music as his form of “therapy” in Punk Rock MBA Podcast.

His friend and down-to-earth coach who helped him with his sobriety also opened up TMZ about Binzer’s passing, saying, “Seth was loved by so many people, especially in the recovery community and the music world. He had a heart of gold and gave back.”
