Falcons lead various. II Featuring six USILA Scholar All-Americans

LOUISVILLE, KY – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association has named the 2024 Scholar All-Americans, with Montevallo Men’s Lacrosse leading all of Division II with six selections while earning a 2024 USILA Team Academic Award.

Montevallo achieved a team grade point average of 3.172 over the course of the 2024 academic year. The Falcons are the only team from the Peach Belt Conference to earn the USILA Team Academic Award.

Individually, Montevallo saw six student-athletes named USILA Scholar All-Americans with Zach Laberge, Trevayne Hunter, Jackson Klewchuk, Max Citrano, Luke Hennebaul and Gerry York earn national academic honors.

Laberge, a finance major, found his way onto the team with a 3.71 GPA in a year in which the native of Winnipeg, Canada, scored 37 points on 29 goals and eight assists, along with three-game winners and eight ground balls. Hunter, a senior from Aldergrove, Canada, earned the honor with a 3.35 GPA in his social studies courses while leading the Falcons with 40 assists on the season and scoring 23 goals for a total of 63 points. Klewchuk, an accounting major, finished the year with a 3.80 GPA while tallying 27 goals and 15 assists for a total of 42 points. A native of Johns Creek, Georgia, Citrano maintained a 3.69 GPA in his marketing courses while leading Montevallo with 24 turnovers caused while earning a First Team All-PBC nod in 2024. Hennebaul maintained a 3.45 GPA in his master’s courses in business administration while recording 21 turnovers and picking up 29 ground balls. Finally, York earned his academic distinction after earning a 3.95 GPA in a business management major while leading the PBC with a 0.725 faceoff winning percentage on a score of 140 out of 193.

The six Falcons named USILA Scholar All-Americans are the only student-athletes from the Peach Belt Conference to receive the academic honor.
