Davante Adams Responds to Claims He’s Unhappy in Vegas

Here we go again. The rumors that Davante Adams is unhappy with the Raiders are growing again. Back in April, rumors surfaced that he wanted to leave Vegas, presumably to be traded after the start of the league year in March. He responded to that rumor by simply saying, “If I wanted to leave, I would leave.”

Now, less than five months later, the rumors have started again. This time thanks to DeSean Jackson appearing on The Herd and saying that Adams told him he wasn’t happy.

“Davante and I have talked about it,” Jackson said. “I hate to do it because I don’t want to be the guy that says, ‘DJax said this, and he said that,’ but at the end of the day he’s unhappy. I mean, you go from Aaron Rodgers to the Las Vegas Raiders. You didn’t just have Jimmy G and your boy Carr and it didn’t really work out.”

That was two weeks ago, and Adams thought about it for a long time, not wanting to make a bigger story out of it than it already was. But when asked about the comments on Wednesday, he didn’t hold back.

“Whatever has been put out there lately is complete bullshit,” Adams said of the rumors that he is unhappy. “I have never spoken to Desean Jackson about one thing, . . . As far as me being angry or not happy in this organization, it’s just a bunch of bullshit that’s just meant to throw everybody off and get clickbait.”

Judging from what DeSean Jackson said, he largely got his opinion on Davante’s situation from watching the Netflix series Receiver, which showed Adams getting frustrated last season with his offensive struggles in the early part of the season and not getting the ball enough.

That, of course, has some people wondering whether Adams would want to stick around for the rebuild. And after he didn’t get a franchise quarterback in the draft and Davante went up against his old QB Aaron Rodgers in the offseason, that could lead to speculation. But speculation and claiming to have actually talked to someone about it are two different things.

In the end, Adams simply repeated what he said in April.

“Everybody wants to know what Davante Adams has to say, and he’s mad in Vegas,” he added. “If I was mad, I wouldn’t be here right now.”
