Argentina vs Canada

The curtain raises on the 2024 Copa America at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, as Lionel Messi and defending champions Argentina get the tournament underway against Canada in Group A.

Canada is on the rise, reaching its first World Cup in 30 years in Qatar but had to qualify for the Copa America the hard way after a misstep in the CONCACAF Nations League. Under new management with Jesse Marsch, it will be a huge battle for them to get an upset result in the first match of the tournament.

Copa America 2024 odds, future to win tournament

Understandably, Argentina, FIFA’s top-ranked side, defending the Copa America champions and fresh from the World Cup crown, are the strong favorites to win this year’s competition as the tournament gets underway.

Brazil are second favorites, but that is largely down to name recognition as the country enters the competition in great turmoil and without injured talisman Neymar.
