Boy, 15, killed in Hayward shooting, 13-year-old seriously injured

(KRON) – A Rodeo teen was killed in a shooting in Hayward early Wednesday morning, Hayward police said. A 13-year-old victim was seriously injured.

HPD responded to the shooting at 1:58 a.m. on the 24000 block of Second Street. One victim, a 15-year-old boy from Rodeo, was found dead at the scene.

About 15 minutes after police responded, HPD learned that a second victim had shown up at a local hospital. He was identified as a 13-year-old from Hayward. Police say he is in critical but stable condition.

No arrests have been made in connection with this shooting. The city of Hayward has now had five homicides in 2024.
