The idea has been bubbling for more than a decade, but construction on a playground at Coonamble Bowling Club has finally begun.

Work started on Tuesday 18 June on a section of the disused bowling alley, which will include a children’s area for all ages with a shade sail, table tennis table, rock climbing walls and a basketball hoop.

The club expects the project, which will cost more than $300,000, to be completed by the end of July this year.
