Bosa Marvels At 49ers DE Floyd’s Physique With Great One-Liner originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

Nick Bosa is impressed with the physique of his new 49ers teammate Leonard Floyd.

Speaking to the media after practice on Tuesday, Bosa was asked what he thought of Floyd’s build, given that the defensive end is slightly thinner than the average lineman. The veteran San Francisco forward responded with humor.

“Have you seen him up close?” Bosa said with a laugh. “He’s got a good build. He’s about 245 (pounds), muscular, probably 5 percent body fat and he can run, so I think he fits the scheme really well and he’s proven he can rush the passer.”

Floyd will likely start opposite Bosa on San Francisco’s revamped defensive line, with the eight-year veteran bringing plenty of big-name experience to the table. The 31-year-old spent two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, helping lead the team to a Super Bowl LVI championship.

Along with new defensive coordinator Nick Sorensen and new assistant coach Brandon Staley, the 49ers are looking to return to the brutal style of football that is their trademark. With impact players like Talanoa Hufanga and Dre Greenlaw still recovering from serious injuries, Floyd’s veteran presence will be needed more than ever as the official NFL season approaches.

Though Floyd may look thin by NFL standards, he is built to handle the rigors of football as he enters his ninth season as a professional football player.
