Blizzard ignores Diablo 4 glitch that accidentally gave players free stat boosts

Diablo4 Players who played last season will now be happy to see that Season Five has arrived, with a strange seasonal glitch that allows new characters to keep all of the Tempering recipes they earned during the action-RPG’s last major update.

This bug is making sure that players are starting season five much stronger. And the best part is that Blizzard is actually letting it go (at least for this season).

A list of available learned Temper recipes in Diablo 4 Season Five
Hello, my old friends. Screenshot by Dot Esports via Blizzard.

Tempers were originally introduced in Season Four as a way to improve the crafting system and add Weapon, Offense, Defense, Utility, and Mobility stats to your gear. They’re at the heart of this new bug, where all Tempers earned in Season Four are strangely sticking around after the Season Five update. Blizzard is aware of this, DevilCommunity Director Adam Fletcher confirmed this today and they are leaving it as is.

If you’ve played season four like me, you’ll notice a ton of Tempers in your Temper section that you earned in the previous season. I even kept my Legendary Tempers. This means that once we complete the quest to learn Tempering at level 15, we can apply those Tempers to our gear and get some pretty incredible stat buffs early on in the game, especially if you have any Legendary Tempers lying around.

While this is all well and good, most Diablo4 Tempers are class specific, so if you’re playing a different class than you were in the previous season, you might not be able to take full advantage of this glitch. I do have a few non-class specific (generic) Tempers. Luckily, I’ve gone back to playing a Necromancer, so I’m getting the most out of this bug.

For those who haven’t played Diablo4 Season Four, you won’t be able to take advantage of this glitch. This is because you won’t have a Season Four character who would have earned Tempers. It’s not all doom and gloom though; you can still get Tempers this season by completing most in-game content, such as Helltides and Dungeons. You just won’t have as early access to Legendary Tempers as everyone else who played Season Four.
